2) PostDoc - Aviation Noise Modeling (Optimization) : The candidate would work on an optimization noise model for aviation. This work would continue following the groundwork research of the Luxembourg national project – LAN (Luxembourg Aviation Noise project). The candidate would develop a modified integrated noise model that would be used to optimize aircraft trajectories and solve both environmentally optimal and cost effective solutions for airports and aviation companies.

The candidate would most likely have a background in one or more of the following fields: operations research, environmental physics or mathematics, computer modeling, geo-statistics, and/or technical economics. Candidates would also be expected to help develop an international platform of research, involved in European framework projects.

Created in 1987, the Public Research Centre Henri Tudor's main aim is to promote innovation in both the private and public sectors by offering a large panel of services and activities: R&D projects, technology transfer, technological assistance and consulting, high level training and qualification, doctoral research, animation of innovation networks, high-tech business incubation.
The language of the CRTE is English, but a working knowledge of French or German would be very helpful.
