The 13th congress of the French operations research society (ROADEF 2012) held at Angers (Loire-valley) in April 2012 brought together more than 270 high-quality contributions and 430 participants from both academia and industry. The purpose of this special issue is to gather the best contributions in the field of production and transportation presented at the conference. Topics in the scope of the special issue include, but are not limited to:
• Project management and scheduling
• Resource management
• Production planning
• Machine assignment and scheduling
• Scheduling under uncertainty
• Multicriteria scheduling
• Facility layout
• Vehicle routing
• Infrastructure network configuration
• Transportation network design
• Location of terminals/facilities
• Fleet selection
• Inventory systems
• Capacity levels of equipment and labor
• Scheduling of trips or jobs
• Industrial applications
• Software
Authors who are not sure if their contributions match the scope of the special issue are invited to contact the managing editor, Eric Pinson, at eric.pinson@uco.fr.
Contributions not presented at ROADEF 2012 are welcome.
